Climbing the Ubinas in 2 days
We leave at 10:00am with a four wheel drive and drive in 4 hours to an altitude of 4600m., where we put up our tents and stay the night to acclimatise or we walk half an hour up to stay in an other possible base camp.
At 5:00am the second day we start the ascension, which takes between 3 and 5 hours to the top of the Ubinas, which has a crater twice as big as the crater of the Misti. After about 40 minutes at the top, we start to walk down and reach the base camp in about 3 hours. In the base camp, we will eat something, collect our things and drive back to Arequipa.
This 2 day tour includes:
The price of this tour depends on the size of the group and the guide. We always use experienced guides, that know these mountains well. For some mountains like the Ampato, Coropuna and most of the time the Chachani special safety measures are required. In this case we always use a well trained (official mountain) guide.
The Ubinas is one of the most active volcanoes in Peru so conditions can change often. The Ubinas, Misti, Picchu Picchu and Chachani in the dry season however are "easy" to climb and don't need any special precautions. For these mountains we can organise a tour for you with licensed (official mountain guide) or unlicensed (but experienced and qualified) guides.
